Self love is the best love...
Sharing the journey of the girl who found herself on the other side of the world. Blogging my way into your hearts by sharing my personal stories of fails and wins throughout this crazy thing we call life.
“How are you?”
All common questions we find ourselves answering on an almost daily basis. I’ve found that whenever I have very little report or “nothing exciting” going on or coming up that I apologize to the person. Why is that? Why do I feel bad that I don’t have some grandiose story to tell? I started thinking about it and I feel it’s because we don’t know how to sit in the in between. The in between is uncomfortable and full of the unknown. What the heck is the "in between" I refer to? It’s the space between what was and what will be. It’s the space where you feel as though you’re coasting through life; nothing too high; nothing too low. Just coasting. Actually; coasting is one of the best feelings in the world; yet we resist it.
I believe I’m currently in one of these in between states. My highest of highs was writing my book while in Bali and ever since; life has been so good. I’m working on editing the book and won’t finish until it’s in print! Sure; I’ve had highs and lows since then, but nothing super duper awesome, like that! So I’m currently learning to get comfy with the in between; before the next life changing opportunity or person comes a knockin'! There are so many unknowns in life. You never know who is coming in or going out. You never know what opportunities may come your way. The in between can actually be kind of exciting. It’s just before the next new exciting friend, the new relationship, the new job, the new passion that ignites you; it’s simply the before. Enjoy the coasting…it’s a beautiful place to be.
So next time someone asks what’s new? We can say nothing currently, but so excited for what’s to come!

It’s mid- August and I haven’t posted on my blog since June?! It makes me want to cry! Why am I calling myself out on my own blog?! Because knowing this got me thinking about the topic of priorities and scheduling time for what means the most. I’m a prime example of this. Check it – writing is my number one; my love, my one and only and yet, life and work crept its way in and allowed me to put my number one passion on the back burner yet again. Even though I’m passionate about; it’s not just going to happen on its own. How many times has this happened in my life?! Too many to count. It just makes me realize that you truly have to schedule in time for EVERYTHING in order for it to actually happen. For example; I had a goal of writing a book since I was 16 and it wasn’t until I took a sabbatical from my entire life for an entire month that I was able to get that book draft done! If that’s not proof; I don’t what is.
If we as humans waited until we “felt” like doing something; my guess is that we might not get much done. At least in my case; that might be the way it is. HA! I’ve found that whenever I put my self-care and my passions on the back burner I end up feeling a lot worse…about everything. I’ve learned that even though I “don’t have time” in my day to dedicate to getting quiet with myself, my thoughts, my message and actually sitting my booty in the seat to type the words out; I must MAKE TIME. My soul and spirit light up when I’m writing. When I hit post I get a little excited and knowing that my words could impact someone; it seriously keeps me going. I believe it is truly my calling to write, share and inspire others!
The lesson I’d like to share on this topic is this: If there’s something you’ve been “meaning to do”; something that “whenever you have time” you plan to do – throw that plan out the window! Hate to break it to you, but it’s never going to happen honey. You must MAKE time – whether it’s setting a reminder to take a walk to get away from the computer, or blocking out time on your calendar to ahem (post blogs or something?), or even calling someone. Our world moves entirely way too fast for us to keep up with every single thing we need “to do” that simply crosses our mind. Write it down. Schedule it. Put it on your calendar. Make time for the tasks and people that light you up; you will be much happier and fulfilled because of it!
How do you keep yourself on track? I’d love to hear your stories.

Having authentic conversation makes my heart sing. I love hugs. I live for connecting with people on a deeper level. I feel as though it is my soul calling to share my stories and perspective to be a light in this world. I'm exactly where I need to be and I'm very much looking forward to the bright future...
