You are right where you are supposed to be:

In my twenties; I feel as though I resisted; I fought and I tried to make things work. I tried to change people; I tried to change situations. I tried to fit a square peg into a round hole – or however the old saying goes. All in all; it never worked. All I ever got was frustrated and stressed the eff out. It wasn’t until my thirties I started to realize; there’s no point in trying to change anything or anyone, for that matter. The only thing you can change is yourself; through your actions, thoughts and words. Essentially; you’ve got to have a mindset reset.
When you start to reset your mindset you see that life is always happening; time is always flying. It doesn’t matter if you’re worried or content. It is happening; with or without you. You start to see that life goes rapidly and it is not worth your stress or worry. Stressing and/or worrying is not helping your situation anyhow and never will. If anything; things will likely get worse when harboring all that negativity. What if we let go? Surrender? Release? Trust? Sounds a bit scary I bet, but truly it’s where the magic lies. When you get to the point where you become water and are fluid (within reason) about what is happening around you; life starts to get groovy.
Trust that you are always right where you are supposed to be; literally and figuratively. Life has a way of working itself out; even when it seems impossible. This will only make sense in reverse; hindsight is truly 20/20. You will eventually connect the dots, but only in when looking back. Everything in your life thus far has worked out and you’ve always been taken care of; so why wouldn’t today and everyday thereafter be any different? Lean into contentment and acceptance. This doesn’t mean you become complacent by any means; you still go out and hustle but without the pressure of trying to control everything. Just roll with it; all of it.
Stuck in traffic? Don’t get annoyed; listen to your favorite song or call that friend you never get to talk to. You are right where you are supposed to be. Someone cancel on you last minute? Embrace the change in plans and trust you are right where you are supposed to be. Someone break your heart? Yes, trust you are right where you are supposed to be. The big stuff is when it gets much more difficult to “accept” that it’s still happening for you and not to you. When you’re in the thick of serious pain or life lessons; screw contentment, but yes; it’s part of the process. It’s part of you; and who you are ultimately meant to be.
Contentment comes from within. You get to control how you feel. Choose peace, choose acceptance, choose surrender and at last choose happiness. I fully understand that life is a trip and can offer some unexpected twists and turns no doubt, but fasten your seatbelts and enjoy the ride!
